A clearer route from research to a properly surveyed quote
YourAirCon is an independent quote-matching and information service for air conditioning installation in the United Kingdom and the United States. We help people understand the likely systems, costs and local constraints before connecting them with one independent installer who covers their area.

What we do
Homeowners and businesses tell us about their property, location and project through a short enquiry form. We use those details to identify one independent installation business serving the area. That installer contacts the customer, surveys the property and produces its own quote. Requesting a match is free and creates no obligation to proceed.
We may receive a referral fee from an installer. We do not add that fee to a customer quote, sell equipment, carry out installations or become a party to the contract between a customer and an installer. Our role and commercial model are explained in full in our terms of service.
How installer matching works
Installers joining the network are required to operate as established independent businesses and to hold the certification, licensing and insurance required for the work they accept. In the UK that includes current F-Gas certification for refrigerant handling. In the US it includes EPA Section 608 certification and the contractor licensing required by the relevant state or municipality.
Credentials can expire and requirements vary by jurisdiction, so customers should always confirm the installer's current certification, licence, insurance, permit responsibility and written warranty before accepting a quote. We deliberately send an enquiry to one business rather than circulating personal details around a list.
Editorial and pricing methodology
Our guides are written to answer the questions that materially change an installation decision: likely equipment type, property constraints, climate load, permits or planning, certification, installed cost and ongoing running cost. City pages use the same consistent framework so readers can compare markets, while the climate, housing, installation conditions, prices and questions are researched for each location.
Sources we prioritise
- United Kingdom: Met Office climate data, Office for National Statistics population estimates, GOV.UK legislation and guidance, Ofgem energy information and local-authority planning material.
- United States: NOAA climate normals, US Census data, Department of Energy and ENERGY STAR guidance, EPA refrigerant rules, IRS tax-credit guidance and state or municipal permit information.
- Market pricing: current equipment bands, published installer pricing, labour and access differences, permit or planning requirements and the complexity of the system described. Published ranges are estimates, never a substitute for a site survey.
How we handle dates and corrections
Cost, incentive, regulation and certification content is reviewed when the underlying information changes and at least annually. A visible review date appears on location guides, and material updates are reflected in the XML sitemap. We do not change a page date simply to make old information appear fresh.

Who writes and reviews our guides
“YourAirCon Editorial Team” is an organisational byline for material researched and maintained by YourAirCon rather than a claim that one unnamed person holds a professional engineering credential. We check technical and regulatory statements against primary public sources and clearly separate editorial market estimates from surveyed contractor quotes.
Our guides help readers prepare questions and compare options; they do not replace a property survey, load calculation, planning decision or advice from a currently licensed or certified professional. Where a named specialist contributes or reviews material in future, we will identify that person and their relevant credentials rather than implying authorship that cannot be verified.
Editorial independence
Installers cannot pay to change our explanation of regulations, cost methodology or system suitability. Referral relationships may influence which eligible installer receives an enquiry, but they do not determine the factual content of our guides. We do not publish fabricated customer reviews, invented local offices or ratings that cannot be substantiated.
